OKM Detectors

OKM Detectors and 3D Ground Scanners

In short. OKM is a German manufacturer of 3D ground scanners and ground penetrating radar, not conventional swing detectors. Prices here run from £2,390 for the Pulse Nova to £41,790 for the eXp 6000 Professional Plus. We are an official UK dealer, so every unit carries a genuine warranty.

An OKM detector does something a standard machine cannot. Instead of beeping at a target, it scans an area and builds a three dimensional image of what lies beneath, showing size, depth and shape before you break ground. That is why these are used for archaeology, utility surveys and serious treasure work rather than weekend detecting.

Is an OKM Right for You?

Yes, ifYou survey professionally, work large sites, or need to know what is underground before committing to a dig.
Probably not, ifYou detect at weekends for coins and jewellery. A good swing machine under £1,000 will serve you far better.
Learning curveThese are survey instruments. Reading the imaging takes practice, and OKM provide training material with every unit.
Where they are usedHeavily in Africa, the Middle East and Asia, where deep caches and tombs justify the outlay.

OKM Detector Questions, Answered

What is an OKM detector?

OKM is a German manufacturer of 3D ground scanners, ground penetrating radar and geo electrical instruments. Rather than beeping at a target, an OKM detector scans an area and produces a three dimensional image of what lies below, showing depth, size and shape.

How much does an OKM detector cost?

OKM detector prices here run from £2,390 for the Pulse Nova to £41,790 for the eXp 6000 Professional Plus. The Rover range sits around £10,870 to £12,590, and the Fusion range from £6,980. Full prices are listed above and on each product page.

Which OKM detector is best?

It depends entirely on the job. Rover for portable 3D imaging, Fusion if you need to separate cavities from metal, GeoSeeker for water and voids, Gepard for true radar, and the eXp range when you need maximum depth and resolution.

Do OKM detectors really work?

Yes, within what they are designed to do. They image subsurface anomalies, which is not the same as identifying gold specifically. Any seller promising a machine that points straight at buried treasure is overselling it. Reading the imaging well is a skill.

How deep do OKM detectors go?

Depth depends on the model, the ground and the size of the target. The scanning models reach several metres in favourable conditions, with the eXp range going deepest. They are locating sizeable masses and cavities, not single coins.

Is there an OKM detectors price list?

Yes, the three price bands above cover the full current range, and every product page carries its own price. If you want a formal quote including delivery, contact us and we will put one together.

Do OKM detectors come with a warranty in the UK?

Yes. We are an official UK dealer, so units are supplied with the manufacturer warranty and UK support. Grey imports bought elsewhere often are not, which is worth checking before you buy.

Do I need training to use one?

Some, yes. These are survey instruments rather than point and go detectors. OKM supply training material with every unit, and we are happy to talk through the basics before you buy.
