OKM eXp 7000 Pro Plus Questions, Answered

How much is the OKM eXp 7000 Professional Plus?

£29,990. It is the dearest instrument we sell, and we will say plainly that very few people should buy it. It is bought on project budgets by survey firms and institutions, not by detectorists.

What does it do that cheaper scanners do not?

Two things. The SuperSense System takes up to seven sensor pairs, so you cover far more ground per pass at full resolution rather than trading one for the other. And it offers up to eight operating modes rather than two or three.

What are the operating modes?

3D Ground Scan, Metal Discrimination, Tunnel Scan, Mineral Scan, Pinpoint Mode and Live Scan among up to eight selectable modes. Tunnel Scan and Mineral Scan in particular are not available further down the range.

Does it work as a normal metal detector too?

Yes, and that is unusual at this level. The VLF coil gives genuine near surface detection for coins, relics and jewellery, so one instrument covers both deep survey and ordinary detecting.

What is 3D VLF Scan?

It sweeps an area and visualises subsurface anomalies in real time, highlighting likely targets while filtering signals you do not want. The filtering is the valuable part: it reduces the number of holes you open for nothing.

What ground can it handle?

Open fields, ancient settlement sites and difficult forested slopes. The point of seven sensor pairs and eight modes is that you adapt the instrument to the terrain rather than accepting one compromise setting.

Is there anything sensible below it?

Yes, a great deal. The Fusion Professional Plus at £19,200, the Evolution NTX at £15,999, and the Fusion Light at £6,980. For most buyers one of those is the honest answer.

What support comes with it?

Full setup, calibration, training across the modes and the software, and UK warranty handling. At £29,990 we would expect to spend a day with you, and we would want you to see it working before committing.
