GER and UIG Detectors
In short. GER and UIG build multi system units that combine long range location, ionic scanning and 3D ground imaging in one case. They run £225 to £9,750. They are survey tools for large areas, not coin machines.
These systems answer a different question from a normal detector. Instead of telling you there is metal under the coil, they are built to point you at an area worth investigating across many acres. That makes them valuable for professional treasure recovery and useless for an afternoon in a field.
What a Multi System Unit Does
Long range locationIndicates a direction and an approximate distance to a target mass, so you can narrow tens of acres down to a search area.
Ionic and geophysical modesReads changes in the ground rather than metal directly, which is how these units reach depths a coil cannot.
3D imagingBuilds a picture of what sits under a survey grid, showing cavities, structures and large metal masses before you dig.
Pinpoint modeOnce the area is narrowed, a conventional detection mode confirms the target precisely. The
UIG Pointer at £225 does this job on its own.

What to Expect, Honestly
They need trainingA multi system unit in untrained hands produces confident readings that mean nothing. Setup and a proper walk through come with every system we sell.
Ground conditions matter enormouslyDry, highly mineralised or heavily built up ground degrades long range performance. Results in Britain differ from results in desert conditions.
Verify before you digTreat a long range indication as a reason to survey an area properly, not as a mark on a treasure map. Confirm with the 3D or pinpoint mode first.
Not for coin huntingIf you want coins, jewellery and relics, a
£250 coil machine will out perform any of these.
Why Buy From Us
Official UK dealerWarranty handled here rather than shipped abroad, with spares held in the UK.
We use this kitWe survey with these systems ourselves, so the advice comes from the field rather than the brochure.
Honest about limitsLong range equipment is often oversold. We will tell you plainly what a system can and cannot do.
Training and setupSet up, calibration and a walk through of the software included with every professional system.
Comparing survey systems? The OKM range is the German built alternative, and Groundtech covers 3D scanning at a lower price point.
GER and UIG Questions, Answered
What does a long range detector actually do?
It responds to a target mass at a distance and gives you a direction, so you can reduce a large site to a small search area. It is a reconnaissance tool. The confirmation still comes from a scanning or pinpoint mode once you are close.
Do GER and UIG systems really reach 45 metres?
Those figures are for large metal masses and voids in favourable ground, not for coins. A single coin at 45 metres is not detectable by any technology on the market, and we will not pretend otherwise.
What is the difference between GER and UIG?
They are closely related manufacturers producing similar multi system platforms, and the ranges overlap. In practice you choose by the number of search systems, the quoted depth and the budget rather than by the badge.
Which unit should a professional start with?
The Titan GER 1000 at £7,750 is the most widely used of the five system units and has the broadest body of field experience behind it. The Deep Seeker at £4,999 is the sensible step below it.
Do I need training to use one?
Yes, genuinely. These units reward understanding and punish guesswork. Setup, calibration and a walk through of each search system are included when you buy from us.
Is there a warranty in the UK?
Yes. We handle warranty work as the UK dealer, so a fault is a phone call to Britain rather than an international shipping exercise.
