The Nokta The Legend is a professional simultaneous multi-frequency metal detector designed for versatile detecting across parks, fields, beaches and highly mineralised ground. With multiple operating frequencies, advanced discrimination, excellent waterproofing and a lightweight design, The Legend is suitable for both experienced detectorists and serious beginners.
The Legend combines multi-frequency technology with selectable single frequencies of 4 kHz, 10 kHz, 15 kHz, 20 kHz and 40 kHz. This gives detectorists flexibility when searching for different types of targets and working in different ground conditions.
The Legend provides dedicated search modes for Park, Field, Beach, Gold Field and Beast, making it suitable for everything from general coin and relic hunting to beach detecting and gold prospecting. Its advanced discrimination and recovery speed settings help users separate desirable targets from iron and other unwanted objects in heavily littered areas.
With an IP68 waterproof rating, The Legend can be fully submerged to depths of up to 5 metres (16 ft). This makes it suitable for beach detecting, wet sand and underwater searching. Vibration detection also provides an alternative alert when detecting underwater.
The detector offers 01–60 Target ID, 60 audio tones, adjustable threshold, Notch Filter, automatic/manual/tracking ground balance, frequency shift and noise cancellation. These controls allow users to fine-tune the detector for different targets and ground conditions.
The Legend weighs approximately 1.3 kg including the search coil and has an adjustable length of 63–132 cm (25–52 inches). Its rechargeable 5050mAh lithium-polymer battery provides up to 20 hours of use, while the backlit LCD and built-in LED flashlight are useful for low-light detecting.
£799.95. We say on our Nokta page that this is the machine most British detectorists should buy if the budget reaches it, because simultaneous multi frequency at this price is genuinely hard to match.
It transmits several frequencies at once rather than one, so the detector reads the ground and the target from multiple angles simultaneously. In mixed British soil, where conditions change across a single field, that is what keeps it stable.
Yes, 4kHz, 10kHz, 15kHz, 20kHz or 40kHz. The low end suits large silver and deep targets, the high end small gold. Having both options on one machine is the point of it.
Park, Field, Beach, Gold Field and Beast. Beast is the aggressive setting for maximum depth, Gold Field for prospecting, and Beach for wet salt sand. Most owners work in Field and Park.
IP68 rated and submersible to 5 metres, 16 feet, with vibration detection as an alternative alert when you cannot hear the audio underwater. That is genuine submersion, not splash resistance.
01 to 60 Target ID with 60 audio tones, an adjustable threshold, a notch filter, frequency shift and noise cancellation, plus automatic, manual and tracking ground balance. There is more adjustment here than most people will ever need, which is the right way round.
The Simplex ULTRA at £299.95 is the best value machine we sell and runs a single 15kHz frequency. The Legend adds simultaneous multi frequency, selectable frequencies and finer target ID. If you work difficult or varied ground, the difference is real.
Up to 20 hours, with Bluetooth for wireless headphones and pinpointing built in. A separate handheld pinpointer at £49.95 is still faster once the hole is open.
