Designed for coin, relic, jewellery and general treasure hunting, the Safari simultaneously transmits across a broad frequency range of 1.5–100 kHz, helping provide accurate target identification across different ground conditions.
The Safari uses Minelab’s FBS technology to transmit multiple frequencies simultaneously. This allows the detector to analyse a broader range of target responses than a single-frequency detector, helping with target identification, sensitivity and detection depth.
The Safari provides dedicated modes for different types of detecting, including Coin, Coin & Jewellery, Relic and All Metal, along with Pinpoint functionality. Custom discrimination patterns can also be programmed to help users reject unwanted targets while searching for coins, jewellery and relics.
The Safari features Target ID numbers, Tone ID and adjustable discrimination, giving users useful information about detected targets before deciding whether to dig. Its automatic ground compensation and digital filtering are designed to reduce the effects of ground mineralisation.
The Safari is designed for detecting across a range of environments, including parks, fields and saltwater beaches. Its 11-inch Double-D search coil is waterproof, but the Safari control box itself is not waterproof, so the complete detector should not be submerged.

FBS transmits across 1.5 to 100kHz simultaneously rather than at one frequency. Because the ground and the target both respond differently at different frequencies, reading many at once gives better target identification than any single frequency can.
Our ground is inconsistent, often changing within one field. A single frequency machine is a compromise tuned for average conditions. Multi frequency adapts as the ground changes, which is the practical reason to pay for it.

No. The 11 inch Double D search coil is waterproof, but the control box is not, so the detector must not be submerged. It is fine on saltwater beaches and in wet sand, just keep the box dry. For genuine submersion look at the Nokta range.
It is usable by one, but you would be paying for technology you cannot yet hear. We would start you on our beginner range and come to multi frequency once you can read a signal.
DD coils cope with mineralised ground far better than concentric designs, giving a steadier threshold and better separation. At 11 inches it is a sensible all round size for fields and parks.
