ThruScan High Fever Detection Warning During Epidemic Infection Threats
CONTACTLESS INSTANTANEOUS
Automatic Human Temperature Measurement ThruScan Thermal Module
Ability to operate together with ThruScan Metal Detectors. Thus contactless, instantaneous screening of people at the same point for both Dangerous Metal Objects and High Fever Detection. This eliminates the risk of contamination as there is no need to send people with high fever to a different area. The Thermal Module can be implemented to our Medium and High Segment Security Metal Detectors.
Screening for Two Things at One Point
The problem this solves is a queue. If you screen people for metal at the door and temperature somewhere else, you have created a second gathering point and moved anyone with a fever through your building to reach it. Doing both at the same doorway removes that entirely.
The module fits to a ThruScan archway and measures temperature contactlessly as the person walks through. No pause, no handheld thermometer, no member of staff standing close to whoever is unwell. It is built for sites with high people circulation, where stopping each visitor individually is not realistic.
Thermal Scan Module Questions, Answered
How much is the Thermal Scan Module?
£2,999. The standalone version at £3,250 works on its own without an archway, which is the one to choose if you are not also screening for metal.
Does it work on its own?
No, this version attaches to a ThruScan walk through metal detector so that both checks happen at the same point. If you want temperature screening alone, the standalone model is the correct product.
Which archways can it be fitted to?
It can be implemented on ThruScan medium and high segment security metal detectors. If you already own an archway, tell us the model and we will confirm compatibility before you order rather than after.
How fast is it?
Contactless and instantaneous, measuring automatically as people pass. That is the entire point: at a busy entrance anything requiring a pause becomes the bottleneck regardless of how accurate it is.
Why does screening at the same point matter?
Because it removes the need to send anyone with a high temperature to a different area, which is where contamination risk and awkwardness both come from. One doorway, both checks, no redirection.
Is it still relevant now?
It was designed during epidemic conditions, and the demand has obviously changed. Where it still earns its place is sites that have a standing requirement for health screening: some clinical settings, some industrial sites, and venues with specific contractual obligations.
Can staff see the result discreetly?
The module gives a high fever detection warning as part of the archway’s alerting. As with the metal side, where the alert is displayed is a question of how you site the control unit, and we will talk that through on installation.
How accurate is the temperature measurement?
ThruScan do not publish a tolerance figure in the material we have, and we are not going to invent one. If you need a stated accuracy for a clinical setting or a contractual obligation, ask us and we will get the figure from the manufacturer in writing before you commit.
Does it replace a proper health check?
No, and it should not be presented as one. It is a screening tool: a high reading is a reason to take someone aside and ask questions, not a diagnosis. Anyone selling fever screening as medical assessment is overstating it.
What support comes with it?
We supply, advise on fitting to your existing archway, and handle warranty in the UK. See our security detectors page for the archways it pairs with.
