The Golden Mask 4 Xtreme is the most powerful coin detector in the Golden Mask series to date. It is designed to be easy to use, making it suitable for both professional and beginner treasure hunters.
The Golden Mask 4 Xtreme utilises Multiple-Pulse Width Modulation technology, enabling the detector to achieve exceptional depth while maintaining a lighting-fast recovery speed at the same time.
A common drawback of modern metal detectors is the trade-off between depth and recovery speed. When set for a fast recovery speed (Park mode), detectors typically sacrifice depth. Conversely, when set for greater depth (Field mode), recovery speed is often reduced. Some models offer multiple profiles for each mode, which can lead to confusion about which profile to use for optimal performance in a given area. The treasure hunters may end up switching between profiles, hunting the same area multiple times.

The Golden Mask 4 Xtreme was created by an experienced treasure hunter who understands the needs of fellow enthusiasts. It combines both great depth and fast recovery speed into a single device, ensuring maximum efficiency. You no longer need to switch profiles or worry about whether the selected program is the best for the specific soil conditions, or if you’ve missed targets because of the chosen program. Using a Golden Mask 4 Xtreme guarantees all the targets are pulled-out with ease. The Golden Mask 4 Xtreme has been tested in challenging conditions, including areas with volcanic rocks (hot rocks) and soils with a high content of ancient Roman pottery. It has demonstrated excellent depth and performance in these environments.
£649.99. That puts it just above the Golden Mask 7 at £599.99 and well below the Deep Hunter pulse induction machines. For a deep coin machine it is strong value.
Most detectors force a choice: set them for fast recovery and you lose depth, set them for depth and they become slow in trash. PWM is Golden Mask’s answer to that trade. The 4 Xtreme is built to give you both at once, so you are not switching profiles and hunting the same field twice.
No, and that is the point of the machine. It was designed by a working detectorist who was tired of wondering whether the chosen program had cost him targets. One setup covers the ground rather than several passes with different profiles.
35 hours from the 5,000mAh lithium ion pack. That is several full days of detecting between charges, which is unusual at this price and genuinely useful on a weekend rally.
1.2kg with the 24cm, 9.5 inch search coil. Light enough to swing all day, and well balanced on the shaft, which matters more than the headline figure.
Yes, specifically on volcanic hot rocks and on soil with a high content of ancient Roman pottery, both of which defeat a lot of machines. It held its depth and performance in those conditions.
It is easy to use, so yes in principle, but it is a £650 machine and a beginner cannot yet hear what they are paying for. Start on our beginner range and come to this when you can tell iron from silver by ear.
Five years on the electronics mainboard and two years on everything else. We stock Golden Mask fitting search coils from £99, so you can tune the machine to the site rather than buy another detector.
