Diamond and Gemstone Detectors
In short. A diamond detector, or gemstone detector, does not look for metal at all. It responds to the dielectric signature of crystalline material, which is how it can indicate diamonds and other stones that no metal detector would ever see. The
Blue Diamond is £2,150.
This is the most specialist category we stock and it deserves a plain explanation rather than a sales pitch. Gemstones are not conductive, so they are invisible to ordinary detection. These instruments work on a different physical property, and they are bought almost entirely by people prospecting known gem bearing ground overseas.
How It Works and What to Expect
A different measurementLong range dielectric sensing rather than electromagnetic induction. The instrument reacts to the crystal structure, not to conductivity.
Ground conditions dominatePerformance varies enormously with soil moisture, mineralisation and terrain. These instruments reward quiet, dry ground and punish built up sites.
Operator skill mattersLong range equipment of any kind needs a trained, sceptical operator. Readings have to be cross checked from different directions before they mean anything.
Be realisticWe will not tell you this finds diamonds reliably in a British field. It is a prospecting tool for ground already known to carry stones.
Why Buy From Us
Official UK dealerWarranty handled here rather than shipped abroad, with spares held in the UK.
We use this kitWe survey with these systems ourselves, so the advice comes from the field rather than the brochure.
Honest about limitsLong range equipment is often oversold. We will tell you plainly what a system can and cannot do.
Training and setupSet up, calibration and a walk through of the software included with every professional system.
If you are prospecting for gold or water rather than stones, our Next Labs range and GER and UIG systems are the relevant pages. Ring us before buying anything in this category.
Gemstone Detector Questions, Answered
Can a detector really find diamonds?
Not by metal detection, because stones are not conductive. These instruments sense dielectric properties instead, so the underlying physics is real. How well that translates into finds depends heavily on ground conditions and operator skill.
How deep does a gemstone detector reach?
Manufacturer figures run to many metres. Treat those as best case numbers in ideal ground, as with all long range equipment, and plan your survey on the basis of cross checked readings rather than a single indication.
Will it work in the UK?
British geology is not gem bearing in any commercially meaningful way, so the honest answer is that there is very little here to find. This is equipment for overseas prospecting.
Can it find gold as well?
No, that is a different instrument and a different measurement. See our GER and UIG long range systems for gold prospecting equipment.
What support comes with it?
Setup, calibration and a proper walk through, plus UK warranty handling. In a category this specialised we would rather talk first and sell second.
