Description
The 23cm Spider is the universal coil in the range and the one most owners end up using for the majority of their detecting. It runs at both 8kHz and 18kHz, which is what lets it handle coins, relics and gold nuggets without swapping. Its real strength is separation: it pulls good targets out of trash while still penetrating well.

9 inch Spider Questions, Answered
Is this the right first coil to buy?
If your machine came with something larger, yes. The 23cm is the best all round coil in the range and the one you will use most.
What does dual frequency give me?
8kHz suits coins, silver and relics. 18kHz is more sensitive to small gold. Having both on one coil means fewer changes in the field.
How deep will it go?
On a coin in British soil, comparable to any mid sized coil: roughly six to ten inches depending on ground. The larger coils reach further on bigger targets, not on coins.
Spider frame or closed shell?
Spider, which is the open frame design. It is lighter and sheds mud and water, and this one has a protector fitted as well.
