The Golden Mask 30 cm Spider DD search coil is very light and quite deep for coin shooting, with very good ground coverage and target separation. Equally good for coins and relics.
The 30cm Spider is unusually light for its size at 0.520kg, which is what makes it practical as a large coil rather than a chore. It is quite deep for coin shooting, covers ground quickly, and separates targets better than most coils of this diameter. For working a big field for coins and relics it is a strong choice.

Normally the concern is fair, but this one is quite deep on coins and separates better than most of its size. On open pasture it is a good coin coil. On rubbish strewn ground go smaller.
The Fighter is built specifically for heavily mineralised soil and will run quieter there. This Spider is lighter and better on ordinary ground.
Some, as every large coil does. If your sites are littered or you are chasing small gold, keep a smaller coil for those.
Better than a closed shell, because soil and water pass straight through rather than collecting on the face.

The 12” Spider came supplied with my GM6, it’s light, robust, sensitive and gives the detector a feel of great balance. It’s great for pasture and ploughed land and is a good all round coil for medium to larger coins and artifices though I have found even very tiny objects with it. Still one of my favourite coils to use when soil conditions allow and works best on medium to light ground mineralisation.
