The 13cm DD Spider is the smallest coil Golden Mask make, and it exists to find what the others walk over. Very small coins, thin jewellery and tiny gold nuggets all give signals a standard coil simply cannot resolve. At 0.275kg it is also by far the lightest coil in the range, which you notice after an hour of careful work.

Yes, on open ground it reaches less deep than a large coil. What you gain is the ability to separate two targets a few centimetres apart, which on rubbish strewn ground finds far more than extra depth would.
It is the best choice in the range for it. Small natural gold is a tiny target and needs sensitivity rather than reach, particularly on a higher frequency machine.
No, this coil ships without a protector. On abrasive ground such as shingle or stubble a protector is worth having, so ask us when you order.
The open Spider frame removes most of the shell and lets soil and water pass through. At 0.275kg it takes real weight off the end of the shaft.
