£2,650. The A2 GEO at £3,750 is the same instrument plus a geo-electric resistivity system, so the £1,100 difference buys you water and structure detection.
Identical on the scanning and detection side: the same MFS-3 dual sensor gradiometer at plus or minus 3,000 microtesla, the same 1kHz pulse induction, the same 240MHz processor and the same 20 metre 3D depth. The GEO adds resistivity scanning. If you are not looking for water or voids, save the money.
3D Ground Scanning, Live Scanning, Pinpointer, Detector Quick Scan, Detector Advanced Scan and 3D Detector Scanning. The GEO adds two more for automatic and manual resistivity.
Magnetic field variation across two sensors at plus or minus 3,000 microtesla. Comparing two sensors rather than reading one is what separates a genuine buried anomaly from background, and the range here is wider than most scanners in this bracket.
Up to 20 metres on the 3D system, depending on soil structure and target size. That is a depth for finding features and masses, not for finding coins.
It runs at 1kHz, a low frequency well suited to depth on larger targets in mineralised ground. It is the confirmation step after the scan has narrowed the area.
Through the G-Portal 3D analysis application, available for both Android and iOS. Being able to analyse on a phone or tablet rather than needing a laptop is a real advantage on a remote site.
